From Zabriskie Point to Rainbow BasinEarth Science and Geography Study Trip

Over Spring Break, the Earth Science and Geography Department led a study trip to Eastern California to explore geological processes and formations. The group comprised students in two classes: Jeff Walker’s Volcanoes and Civilization (ESCI 135) course and Kirsten Menking’s Geomorphology (ESCI 231) course. They began at Zabriskie Point in Death Valley and ended at Rainbow Basin in the Mojave Desert, with stops at the Devil’s Golf Course, Ubehebe Crater, Mono Lake, Long Valley, Owens River Gorge, Alabama Hills, and Fossil Falls. Tag along on the trip and get a glimpse of some of the spectacular sites they observed.
