Using Vassar’s contributions to the women’s suffrage movement as a backdrop, two members of the faculty joined civil rights champion Sherrilyn Ifill ’84 in a conversation about the challenges that still face many voters a century after the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
As the nation marks the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the 19th Amendment, Vassar College is presenting an online exhibit on the women’s suffrage movement, highlighting the contributions of faculty, students, and alumnae.
Vassar has mobilized this fall, in a campaign called Vassar Votes, to ensure that every student who wants to cast a ballot has all the tools to be able to do so.
